Turn new WooCommerce products into social images with n8n

This free n8n workflow makes a branded 1080 by 1080 image for each new WooCommerce product, from its name, price, description and photo. The file is then ready for your next node. It has been run in self-hosted n8n against the live service using a sample product. The WooCommerce trigger and the optional Facebook step have not been run, because we have no store or Page to test with.

Import the workflow

Download the workflow

  1. Download the file, or use Import from URL in n8n with https://postimager.com/workflows/woocommerce-product-to-social-image.json.
  2. Create a free PostImager account and an API key.
  3. In n8n, add a Header Auth credential: name Authorization, value Bearer followed by your key. Select it on Render product image.
  4. Edit Your brand: store name, colour, currency symbol and badge.
  5. Press Test workflow to run the included sample product.
  6. Connect your store on New product in WooCommerce, then activate the workflow.

What it sends

The product name, price and sale price, the short description with its HTML removed, and the first photo. The product id becomes the Idempotency-Key, so a retry does not use a second render. If the render has not finished, the workflow stops with a clear message, so a later step never posts an empty link.

Photos

Photos must be public JPEG or PNG files, up to 5 MB. WebP is refused, and the render stops with an error saying so. If your store serves WebP, point the workflow at a JPEG or PNG version.

Limits

PostImager is a free beta with five fixed templates, so you cannot change the layout. Each account gets 50 renders a month and 25 a day. There is no uptime commitment.

Common questions

Does it post to social media?
Only if you turn it on. A Facebook Page node is included and switched off, and it has not been run. You can swap in any node that takes an image.
Does it work with Shopify?
The render step does not care where the fields come from, so you could replace the trigger with a Shopify one and map its fields. We have not run that.
Is any AI involved?
No. Your product name and price go into a fixed template, and come out exactly as written.
