Image template APIs compared: free use, n8n fit and Indic fonts
Two of these five tools have a free monthly allowance: PostImager, with 50 renders and five built-in templates, and APITemplate.io, with 50 images or PDFs and three templates. Bannerbear, Placid and Templated offer free trials. PostImager is the newest and smallest, and the only one here where you cannot design your own template. Every competitor fact below comes from that company's own pages, read on 4 November 2026.

How to read this
We have not run the other four tools, so this compares what they publish. "Not mentioned" means only that: a tool with custom fonts may render Hindi or Punjabi well, so test your own text in its trial before you decide. Prices are in US dollars, billed monthly unless noted, and can change. Check each company's page.
When a paid tool is the better choice
You need your own brand template today, more than a few hundred images a month, a dedicated n8n node, or a service with paid support and a track record. All four have those things to some degree, and PostImager has no customers yet and makes no uptime commitment.
When PostImager may fit
One of the five built-in templates suits you, you want to try the step in n8n without a card, or your posts are in Hindi or Punjabi and you want to see them rendered first. Paid PostImager plans are proposals and are not on sale.
Common questions
- Which template image API is free?
- Of these five, PostImager and APITemplate.io have free monthly allowances, 50 each as of 4 November 2026. The other three offer trials. PostImager is a free beta, so its limits may change.
- Which one handles Hindi or Punjabi well?
- We do not know, because we have only tested our own. PostImager has rendered both in its built-in templates. The others do not mention them on the pages we read, which does not mean they cannot do it.
- Are you connected to these companies?
- No. They are separate companies, and this page is not endorsed by any of them.
